The Founding of the Family Workshop
The story of Turcan Dizel began with a diesel pump workshop opened in Turgutlu in 1978. Founded by Gürol Turcan's father, Erdoğan Turcan, under a partnership structure, this first workshop formed, over time, the foundation of the Turcan family's professional identity. Gürol Turcan was only 8 years old when the workshop opened; throughout his childhood he was trained directly in the field in diesel fuel systems.
Turcan Pompa
In 1984 the family left the partnership and began carrying on its own activities under the name Turcan Pompa. Business that continued at the Turgutlu Old Industrial Zone later expanded with a second workshop in the newly opened industrial zone. Gürol Turcan took an active role in the operation of both workshops in old & new industrial zones.
The Move to İzmir
Business in Turgutlu continued until 1998, entered a new era with the closure of brick factories and structural change in the region. During these days, Gürol Turcan decided to continue providing his services at İzmir 5th Industrial Zone as Turcan Pompa while Turgutlu operation was run by his father.
Diagnostics Investment
Gürol Turcan has invested in diagnostic tool technologies ever since electronically fuel-managed and common rail diesel vehicles began to spread in Turkey. As first diagnostic tools came into use in the early 2000's, being one of the first ones in the entire country, he purchased the first diagnostic tool – a significant investment for its time – and began providing services in this field at an early stage. Core principle has not changed since then: "A malfunction is not guessed; it is detected with proper diagnosis tools and experience."
Bosch and Delphi Authorized Service Era
In 2006 a different partnership process began within the Bosch service structure; in the last 5 years of this era, Delphi authorized service was also integrated into the existing structure. Lasting approximately 20 years, this period gave Gürol significant experience in Bosch and Delphi service discipline, test equipment, usage of modern equipment and a corporate service approach.
Once Again as Turcan Dizel
As of January 2026, Gürol Turcan decided to provide services under his own brand once again. Thus, the long-standing Turcan Pompa heritage and the corporate experience gained during the Bosch and Delphi authorized service era were restructured under Turcan Dizel brand, tailored to today's needs. Today, Turcan Dizel combines the culture of craftsmanship carried from 1978 with modern diesel test technologies, accurate diagnostics and a vehicle-owner-focused service approach.
